We're running out of our V3 shaker bottles starting today. This means we're switching to a new 'temporary' design.

Like Onno mentioned earlier, this shaker will be focused much more heavily on functionality and be reducing some of the issues with the current shaker design (the rubber ring issue, the pressure build-up issue, and the complaint that the mouth of the shaker is not wide enough). V4 will look like this:

Due to a delay in the shipping of the V4 shakers, we will be sending out Buchsteiner shakers (still good, but no branding) for about two weeks when we run out of our current shakers.

I've received a lot of emails and comments in the 'Shaker Feedback' thread on the forum with very valuable feedback. We're still working on a shaker bottle to solve all small problems V3 has. This will take some time and we'll notify and involve you before we launch it!

Nice! That's good news. And kudos to you guys for keep trying to improve. But I would like to see a metal coil ball instead of the ice grate. Which is for ice, not for mixing. IMO a coiled metal ball is superior to alternatives when it comes to properly mixing of the product.

You can keep the metal coil ball from a previous shaker when you will use the new one.

Still speculation, since for all we know it might be good enough, but from the looks of it I agree that a metal spring feels superior. Fortunately I have a lot of spares from all the shakers I've previously ordered, so that won't be a problem for me, but I worry a brand new customer might not experience the best first Queal meal he could've had with proper mixing.

 

Thanks for listening to our feedback! To be honest I'm not too sure I like the v4 design, from the picture it looks blocky and not sexy at all, on par with v2. I will have to get one to confirm, but I fear it might end up stashed at the back of a cupboard like my v2s did

Truthfully, that's what we anticipated would be the response.
We see the v4 shaker as a stopgap with an emphasis of function over design to take immediate steps to resolve the issues people pointed out about v3.

v5 is where we want to get both a sleek design, and a functionally perfect shaker. We'll be asking for a lot more input and feedback from you guys also before we get around to production for v5. We've set up a team on that now, and we'll be communicating about that more in a few weeks time.

I have shakers with just ice grates. They're inferior. But you can order the coils online, i just don't feel like paying for shipment just to buy a few coils.

You can get blender ball on eBay for less than a buck shipped from China.

I've mixed my fair share of meals over the years and while metal ball is better for mixing the mesh has it's advantages like being silent. Drinking during classes, presentations and such with metal ball inside the shaker is not that pleasant experience

Shaker v4 looks nice but I'll skip and see what v5 brings.

Last month I got this Morphy Richards blender with awesome beakers and sport lids. Not only the beakers are perfect size (700ml), the drinking lids are nice and pretty leak-proof, it is also inexpensive. I just don't get the upper body exercise I used to

Please keep the mounted lid of v2 and i like the metal shaking coil too. I don´t want to have a small single part which i can loose.

V4 looks alot like the bollte i use now. I Love the ice-grate. Was in process of composing an e-mail surgesting (among other things) to add one.

In my experiance the crate workes just as well as the coil-ball. With the added bonus of catching (if any) leftover luimbs. I tryed to use both the grate and a ball a few times and that is awsome. would recommend all who bye v4 to dump in a ball aswell.

I actually like the designe. The standard bottle shape is inoffensive, and the lid colour and text is so much better that most bottles of that shape.
Question: Is there any text/print on the other side? I fear you have put the ugly tl:dr text from v3 on that side, wich would ruin the entire look.

And i agree with 4hot. I'm definitely gonna loose the tiny lid.

But all in all a way better v4 than i had hoped for.

From experience, I preferred the ice gate over the metal coil regarding mixing quality so this is a big plus IMHO

I've never had any shaker with an ice grate, so I cannot compare.

But what annoys me with the metal coil ball is the noise when it rattles in the bottle when it's empty. I can hear it a lot rattling in my backpack when I walk.

From experience with protein shakers the metal ball is superior. Especially when it comes to less fluid contents. So, when mixing a Queal with let's say less than 300-350ml of water, the ball becomes way better in comparison!

I have the v3 temporary design and the ice grate works just fine. It is much better than other shakers I have that lack a grate - they get lots of powder stuck in corners, especially in the lid.

A metal ball seems to be annoying to me, because of the noise and the absence of filtering out lumps before they hit the lid and stick to corners.

I've just received the new, temporary shaker bottle, and I love it! It's a million times better then the V3:

• The wider design really helps me with preparing the meal since it is way easier to aim the powder into the bottle. This may not seem like a huge issue, but more often than not I'm preparing my meal in a hurry and I've got the powder all over the place because of the V3's narrow design, the V4 is also easier to clean because of this.
• The V3 got chunks of powder stuck in the opener (the small removable part) which was annoying to wash, the V4 doesn't have that problem. The opener was also awkward to manage while drinking.
• The ice gate (or whatever it's called) mixes the powder a lot better, I've experienced no chunks at all with it. The V3's metal coil is a cool concept, but I still got chunks stuck to the wall's of the bottle (I'm really not sure how the ice gate manages to solve that, but it works). Also, in the V3 I sometimes got unmixed powder layer in the top of the bottle, no matter how long and hard I shake. This was solvable by not mixing all the powder at once, which was annoying and slow. The V4 has none of those problems. The big issue with the coil was also its loudness. When the content of the bottle reached the end, the last few sips were always really loud. It's also annoying to hear the bottle from the backpack whenever you make a step.

Btw, the bottle doesn't look exactly like the one in the picture, the hole isn't on the side as the picture suggest, but rather in the middle. Also, the colour is blue.
These are non-issues for me, I really don't care, I just pointed it out for the sake of accuracy.

In short, V4 is a success if you ask me and I really don't have anything more to ask for. When you'll be making the V5, I would certainly suggest to keep the wide opening, the ice great, and the screwable cap.

P.S. The V4 bottle that I got in my last order got a dent in it which leaked, but Kala from the customer service offered great refund options which settled the issue. I would just like to thank her for that here publicly.

Can I please get the dimensions of the new shaker v4?

I need to order some bags. Depending on its size and whether it fits in the insulated compartment of my backpack, I'll order a new shaker or not.

Of course! The bottom is 8cm, the top (this includes the cap) is 10cm. The length of the bottle (including the lid) is 20,5cm.

The only thing I wish was a bit different about the v4 is that the lid has steps, and this causes some shake to stick in the corners. if the lid was instead a smooth dome, that wouldn't happen.

However, it could be that the steps have other reasons of being, perhaps it is more sturdy that way. Minor issue, really.
