I actually quite liked the version two, it is perfect for home use, as it is big and the water plus powder fit in very comfortably. I also have some shakers your competition uses and these are all too small, one has to be much more careful with the powder...

On the other hand, the v2 was just horribly unsafe for travelling. I have once made the mistake to put into my backpack and you can imagine the result... I guess the best option to go is to offer one bigger shaker and one smaller and safer for travelling...

I'm not sure it's caused by the temperature though. I prepare it at room temperature, and cool it afterwards. As the temperature gets lower, the pressure should be lower as well, not greater.

One drawback of the whisker ball in the Versions 1 and 3: it makes a lot of noise when I shake it in the office . I never tried the shaker Version 2, and @Skymirrh says the spring was less effective. But I'm sure it makes less noise when shaking. Anything else can be used? Maybe a plastic whisker ball, if that exists?

Our 2nd version, the "spider shaker bottle" made noise as well, because it repeatedly touches the top while shaking and there's more empty space in the shaker itself when you have a Queal shake in it. The iron ball is audibly when your shaker isn't filled to the top. The less Queal, the more noise it will make. I understand your criticism on this. There are indeed plastic stirrer balls, but we have chosen the iron one because they should function better.

I notice you seem shy in addressing the narrow neck problem. Did anyone actually product test to see how easy (it isn't) it is to get powder into the thing?

Hi @edkorho,

Yes we did, but we did it with the new scoops. So with the old scoops I recommend filling it only half (i.e. using 6 half-filled scoops) and that way it should also work .

And I've heard some people say the new scoops can be difficult because when you turn them the powder might already spill (before you have flipped it 180 degrees and it fits nicely over the bottle). So I always make sure to press the powder a bit so it will only fall out once the scoop is (almost) fully turned upside down.

Sorry for the inconvenience if someone has a combination of old scoop and new shaker.

I'm not a fan of whisker balls in shakers in general. I'm concerned that it might scrape off tiny pieces of plastic and/or metal and it is a pain to properly clean and dry them.

The new shaker is really sexy! Sleek and stylish. Easy to hold and shake. I really like it, but for thinkering with flavoring and different addons in shake I will still have to use old one, since it holds more liquid. But for most usages, this is perfect.

I ordered my first batch of Queal last week, and it came with a nice lil' shaker.

The quality is great! I was a bit worried that the plug might unscrew in my bag, but so far no troubles. I do have to say that I also have the issue of the plug "spraying" droplets when I open the bottle, due to some kind of pressure difference. I'm aware of it, so I try to keep the bottle as far away from me as possible, but it's still a little annoying. Doesn't matter if I open it slowly or in one go, either.

As for cleaning it, I've found a way where I don't need to fold my hand up like origami to fit into the bottle. I simply fill the bottle up with hot water and some dish soap, pop the wire ball in and give it a good couple of shakes. Then I drain the excess foam and some water, and shake again until clean. Works like a charm!

To clean the shaker thoroughly, I bought a baby bottle brush like this one.

I have both models, the new one and the previous one and I think the perfections sits somewhere between both of them.

The old was too big and this new one is too small, the mouth of the bottle is too narrow and its complicated to fill it without spilling Queal (I use a small paper funnel when I use this bottle).

I use the old one for convenience.

I'm originally coming from Bertrand and am casually testing the wide range of competitors.

Bertrand is sending out the BlenderBottle Grip which is quite narrow as well but has a slightly larger opening.
It's not perfect (I'm using a funnel as well) but it fits into small backpacks just as well as your Queal shaker does and I'm pretty amazed by the build quality.
Having quite a bunch of shakers from all sorts of different competitors I'm using only one of them on a regular basis and it's that blender bottle.

My main problem with your shaker is the hole which is a bit too small to comfortably drink out of it and that twist-on cap which will definitely go missing sooner or later. Also my nose tends to get in contact with that triangle shaped hanger when drinking which feels a bit weird.

The quality of your marketing has amazed me so far and I would actually buy a branded shaker from you or pay a little extra with my next order for a BlenderBottle-Grip-Shaker. The design you're putting out is great and I'm a big fan of that aqua-blue color. However, not giving your customers a range of options will ultimately result in less people showing around your brand which could be an actual issue in this exploding market.

My suggestion would be to open a merch shop, selling branded shirts and shakers and/or collaborate with BlenderBottle to release a queal branded shaker.

All I've been able to salvage from the new shaker is the metal mixing ball, it's better than the spring thingy in the previous version, but the older shaker wins hands down for usability. I'll probably keep the new bottle simply for portability, but I'd still mix up in the bigger shaker and decant over.

There are some advantages for the new one, namely the portability versus function. I had the old Buchsteiner shaker bottle they came with on my first order, but I haven't tried it with the wire whisk ball, and I also much prefer drinking directly out of the new one.

That said, the Buchsteiner bottle is a bit easier to clean, and definitely easier to mix with when putting the powder in due to the cap being the largest opening, but as for the mixing results itself, the wire whisk seems to be better.

I still prefer the new shaker bottle overall, but the old one is probably better if you don't take your queal with you much.

I had to use the shaker again today, for the first time in a few months. It stood there on the shelf, looking nice and ready so I pushed my memories of splatter and spilled powder away, threw it in my bag and got on with my day. Unfortunately, using it (and I'm typing about the 3rd generation shaker with the 3rd generation scoop here) is still much more frustrating than my reference (the-artist-formerly-known-as-))Joylent shakers.

I spill powder because the opening is too narrow.
The twisty little cap gunks up with powder both inside the unnecessary hole in the middle as well as around the treads.
And some splatter when I first open the bottle after shaking is the norm.

I can take extra care to minimize spill, I can have paper handy for wiping off the cap and catching splatter, and I'm sure there are tricks I could learn to minimize the problems.

But I'm here to make a quick meal and think about other things. This shaker actively gets in the way and lessens my enjoyment.

But hey, it looks nice. And … uh … it doesn't leak.

I don´t like shaker v3. Its top opening is too narrow. It´s hard to fill in the powder without a mess. And the blue coloring sucks. I prefer clear transparent to see the filling. But i like the whisker shaker ball much more than the spring mesh. So i use v2 shaker with the whisker shaker ball from v3.

In my eyes the perfect shaker comes with

• 700 ml
• clear transparent but material from v3
• top opening hole as big as in v2
• whisker shaker ball instead of spring mesh

I would be happy to see a v4 like this.

I never had v1 - so i cannot say exactly. But seems so.
