Hey everybody, I have an update on our investigation.
We have run a whole range of tests, with no definitive conclusion so far, unfortunately.
It is a matter of excluding possible causes until only one culprit remains.
Every batch we produce is meticulously tracked in logs. We've gone through all those logs looking for inconsistencies.
We can rule out any production errors (meaning an error in weighing the ingredients).
We've ruled out some ingredients as variables, such as our micronutrients mix. The micronutrients mix is quite sour on its own, thus it was top of my list of suspects. However, the pH-value test was virtually identical to a 'good' batch of Cool Chocolate, so this is not the problem.
We're now zooming in on the cacao and/or the sweetener, and will keep everyone updated.
For now, we have stopped the sale of Cool Chocolate Standard 5.0, while we produce a new 'good' batch. This is expected to be available to ship by the end of the week.
