Are these known shaker problems?

Hiya,

I've been using Queal for the past month or so. I was curious if the following are known issues with the shakers supplied with Queal.

First off, the markings for volume on the side of the shaker are incorrect. The 400ml marker on the shaker is actually 350ml, confirmed by water weight and other methods. Is this a known production issue? This is true for both shakers I have.

Second, the lids never seem to be secure. I'm not sure if they've slightly deformed from washing/use, but there's never a complete seal and usually end up getting Queal over my hands and such.

Hello @Venae!

Yes, the markings being incorrect is a known issue. The mixing of Queal really doesn't require that much precision, you can add as little or as much water as you'd like.

However, we are working on getting this resolved for the next production run.

How are you washing the shakers? They can indeed deform in the dishwasher, or when washing with very hot water. Send us an email through support@queal.com and we'll see if we can get you some replacement lids!

I had an issue with the lid straight out of the box as well. You can secure the lid on completely, but it is quite finicky and can take a few tries for everything to fit securely. That being said, it works, but I think that there can be improvements to the bottle design in that sense.

I have this issue too, with the cap (not the lid, but the little cap). It doesn't fit very well, and it has always to be bent or twisted.
I have experimented that on 2 different Queal shakers.
I really like Queal products, but this shaker…, it really is one the cheapest reference and most unsecured cap on the market. Why the hell does Queal still order (and send to its customers) it? Do you have ordered 100.000.000 pieces? Queal has often changed its shaker model, but this one is the simply the worst. There are yet soooo much more better brands, like BlenderBottle, SmartShake, AlphaBottle, Buchsteiner…

I think Queal is great, I came from being a subscriber at Jimmy Joy. However I found the vegan protein source just wasn't working for me and my wife since we aren't vegans.
But the shakers from Queal is just rubbish, both the small lid and the large lid does not properly fit on. Yesterday I got chocolate shake on me at the office. I am going to use the Jimmy Joy shakers and other shakers I bought since the ones I got from Queal just isn't a quality product.

Have reported the shaker issue as well and asked to warn others. Deformed in the dishwasher. No explicit warning has been added.
Seems to handle 50°C.

Have not known about the markings being wrong. Would have liked to get an Email about that!
If one has a shaker around one might use it as a measuring cup for baking etc.
The product description doesn't mention it. @Onno_Queal I trust queal less because of if.
If issues are known, just be frank about it and don't wait for people to find out! Those of us who eat only or largely Queal trust you with our health. There is no good way for customers to test queal, so we need to trust you. Don't want to e.g. have neurological issues and later find out, that you knew B12 was missing or something.

[edit: Measured the markings on my shaker and they seem to be spot on. Seems like my aggravation wasn't fully justified]

I'm having the exact same issues as mentioned here! Lids deform, caps deform, its really hard to close everything now. I need to be really careful, I already shaked half my kitchen once when I wasn't careful enough.
@Queal, why don't you offer a nice glass shaker or something, or at least a shaker that closes nicely?
I'm afraid to order a new shaker since it'll probably give me the same issues after a while...
